JANUARY MONTHLY ENCOURAGEMENT
So long to last year It’s all becoming so clear There’s no use living in regret Let’s fight a good fight Train our eyes to find the light And make this year the best one yet Starting right here. Happy New Year! - This Year (Happy New Year) sung by JJ Heller
This song is a soft reminder of a challenging desire. Every new year, people try to list down their goals, bucket lists, and dreams, hoping to accomplish and experience them during the year. But as most of us know, life doesn’t always go as planned. So how do we prepare ourselves for the unknown?
So long to last year / It’s all becoming so clear / There’s no use living in regret The first step to preparing ourselves for the new year is to let go of the
“Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 TPT
God encourages us to look to Him, to seek Him, to perceive what He is doing! He is God and cannot be fit into our limited minds. He wants to do new things, but He won’t if we make no room for Him to move. Let us leave our worries, concerns, and cares to God, trusting that our faith in Him will lead us to see the new things He wants to do in, through, and for us. Let’s fight a good fight / Train our eyes to find the light / And make this year the best one yet / Starting right here.
An encouragement I constantly tell myself and my friends is, “do your best and let God do the rest.” This means that we do our part and trust God to do His. This new year will be full of exciting and maybe scary things, but it’s up to us to determine which will be highlighted more. Faith or fear.
“Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 NLT
We have to choose to get up every day and fight with faith, training ourselves to seek the Light, Jesus, and making every day count. Time flies by fast, but we get to choose if time becomes our master or if we master our time. And it starts right here, right now. Let us be mindful of our time, kind to others, loving to our family, and faithful to God. Happy new year, everyone! God bless you in this chapter of life.
